How to build a winning resume in 2026
Your resume is still the front door. Structure each section to earn a recruiter's attention in under 20 seconds.
A good resume doesn't tell your life story. It answers one question: do you solve the problem this role describes? Open with your name, target title, and a 3-line summary anchored in outcomes.
In experience, use past-tense verbs and quantify everything you can. “Responsible for the sales team” becomes “Led a 6-person team and grew revenue 32% in 12 months”. Keep 3–5 bullets per role.
Tailor for each role: a generic version looks like everyone else's, while one aligned to the posting's requirements is easier to evaluate. Jornatta's job analyzer helps with that.
Length: as a rule of thumb, one page up to around 8 years of experience and two pages beyond that — three rarely helps. Read it out loud before sending: it's a simple, effective final check.
